Hey Daniel, this short, simple post holds so much; thanks! Prayer is so important...I think I barely grasp what it is and what it means, but with God's help I know my prayer life is changing, and it is wonderful to spend time with the Lord. I find if I turn to Him, whatever I'm feeling or thinking or doing and wait for His presence to join me, He does! And what a beautiful time it is!

@Demian Farnworth - Learning to exalt Christ in prayer... I am going to spend some time meditating on that.

Your thoughts and insights are always appreciated, Demian.

Growing up in a charismatic church...asking for gifts is part of the territory. So, in the last two years I've been doing a re-tooling of how I pray as I learn more about the responsible, biblical way to pray. Thanksgiving, showing gratitude, asking for a deeper love of Christ, how can I exalt Christ in these circumstances [not how can I get God to take them away].

Not always easy to do, especially when you see close friends and family suffer. But indeed, I think the real trick is to recognize who we should actually be focused on: Christ. Our pray life exposes were are true loyalties hide.

Thanks for the reminder, Daniel.
